·         While we are supposed to be at the rink to skate, I know that sometimes you might need to talk to other skaters about something.  This is fine, but please, if you are talking rather than skating, please do so by the sides of the boards, so that skaters who are skating do not have to go around you!

·         Please remember that you are not the only one on the ice.  I would like you to give priority (i.e. get out of their way!) to skaters in the following order:

o        Skaters in a lesson

o        Skaters doing their program (or a skill or dance) to their music

o        Skaters in the middle of a spin

o        Skaters about to take off for a jump

·         KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN! If a skater is not paying attention, go around them rather than run directly into them!

·         If you need to leave the ice, please let a coach know, as you could very well be next on their lesson list!  If we don’t know where you are, you may end up paying for a lesson that you don’t get!

·         If someone gets hurt, please tell a coach immediately.

·         Please respect other skaters in lessons, and only interrupt a lesson if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.

·         Please try to be ON TIME for sessions (i.e. Come 15min early to get your skates on, be on the ice when the session begins).  It is expensive for the bluc to buy ice and pay coaches when there is no one on the ice to teach!

·         Please, do NOT play tag or other ‘chasing’ games, unless in a stroking session.  This is dangerous to other skaters as well as distracting to coaches/skaters in lessons.

·         Devices with headphones are not allowed on the ice for safety reasons.

·         If someone says “excuse me”, because they are trying to execute a move of some kind, please be courteous, and move for them!

·         Place jumps at the ends of the ice, and spins in the centre area of the ice (unless performing your program).

·         Skaters may play their own music (**no music with questionable language, please), but must check to make sure a coach or other skater is not already using the music. Skills, dance and program music comes before music just to listen to.  If more than one skater wishes to play their music, start a line-up of CDs/Tapes and play them in order, with preference given to those who have not yet had their music played.

·         We all have bad days now and then, but please do not take frustrations out on the ice by kicking, or making holes.  Any skater seen intentionally doing so will be asked to leave—after properly repairing the damage.

·         No skaters shall chew gum or eat on the ice.

·         Dressing rooms are for SKATERS/PARENTS only.
